Catherine Sawoski is a New York–based writer and critic who specializes in theater and literature. She is drawn to site-specific work, aesthetics, and the productive contradictions of paradox. Her writing appears in Lit Hub, The Brooklyn Rail, Exeunt Magazine, The Harvard Review, Culturebot, 3Views on Theater, The Drift, The Hat, and others. She was selected as a 2026 participant in the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Catherine is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, where she studied English and Philosophy and graduated with honors. She enjoys theater in basements, used bookstores, and her goldendoodle, Amber. She will earn her MSt in Early Modern English literature from the University of Oxford in Spring 2027.
