Catherine Sawoski is a New York–based writer and critic who specializes in theater and literature. She is drawn to site-specific work, aesthetics, and the productive contradictions of paradox. Her writing appears in The Brooklyn Rail, Exeunt Magazine, The Harvard Review, Culturebot, 3Views on Theater, The Drift, and The Hat, among others. She was recently selected as a 2026 participant in the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Catherine is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, where she studied English and Philosophy and graduated with honors. She enjoys theater in basements, used bookstores, and her goldendoodle, Amber. She will earn her MSt from Oxford University in Spring 2027.
